This centre was set up in the year 1976-77 at the campus of Central Sheep and Wool Research station Pashulok, Rishikesh in district Dehradun. The main aim was to purchase the sheep wool from the sheep breeders and procure the wool of all the sheep farms of Uttarakhand. The wool was then graded and sold in open market. It gave market support price to sheep breeders. The centre worked from Pashulok campus till 1997 and was then shifted to Muni ki reti during 1998-99.
